Day 3: Namche

A tough day awaits us. In total, we gain about 900 meters up to Namche Bazar. At Monjo, we enter the Sagarmatha National Park. Here, we see Thamserku (6,608 meters) towering high above us. Following the Dudh Kosi for the fifth, and now last time, we get a tough final climb high above the river to Namche Bazaar. With a clear vision in the distance, we can see Mount Everest and Lhotse.

Today we stay in a comfortable lodge at Namche Bazaar (3500 meters). If we just go up in the direction of the military camp and go around the corner we can see Everest and the Ama Dablan. Namche Bazaar is a real commercial city and on Saturdays, there is still a famous market and many lodge owners come to buy their supplies.

Meals: B,L,D
Cycling Distance: 4-6hrs

Day 4: Namche

We spend one more day at Namche for acclimatization. Later enjoy a short hike with spectacular views of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Everest. We go around the corner in the direction of Kenjoma for lunch.

Meals: B,L,D
Cycling Distance: 4-5hrs

Day 5: Tengboche

Today we walk at a leisurely pace through Thamo to the village of Thame (3800 m). While walking along the Bhote Kosi river, enjoy brilliant views to the other side of the valley and the high peaks of the Nupla, Shar, and Lho Nup. At Thame, a visit to the monastery is very worthwhile. East of Thame is the Rolwaling area with beautiful peaks with sonorous names such as Bigphera Go Shar, Panayo Tippa, and Tengi Rai Tau.

Meals: B,L,D
Cycling Distance: 4-5hrs

Day 6: Dingpoche

With stunning views of the Ama Dablam, we leave Pangboche. Along the way we pass many prayer walls (Mani walls), always pass them on the left! We continue our way towards Orsho where beautiful rock paintings give some color to the environment. Moments later we cross the Lobuche Khola and catch some views of Pumuri in the north. A final climb brings us to Dingpoche (4410 meters), a beautifully elongated village at the foot of the mighty Ama Dablam (6856 meters). A side trip to the 5080 meters high Nagkar Tshang is possible. The cold evening is already noticeable, as the sun disappears behind the peaks.

Meals: B,L,D
Cycling Distance: 5-6hrs

Day 7: Day Trip Chhukung

We leave our luggage at the lodge and walk with a light daypack to Chhukung, the last village in the eastern direction. We're getting closer to Island Peak, a climbing peak of nearly 6200 meters. From Chhukung, enjoy a spectacular view of the great northern ice wall of Lhotse.

There is enough time for a side tour towards Chhukung Ri (5550 meters) or Island Peak base camp (about 5000 meters).

Meals: B,L,D
Cycling Distance: 5hrs

Day 11: Tyangboche

From Lobuche, we take the same way back to Tukla and then take the lower path in the direction of Pherice and further down to Orsho where the higher route goes to Upper Pangboche.
